Buschbeck, Erhard

The first meeting with Georg (about 1896):

My memories of Trakl go back to the time of elementary school, and I can still see him before me, how he stood at the quay of the river Salzach before the Protestant school, where I visited, to take religious education with his sister… a small, well-groomed boy with long, blonde hair accompanied by a French Bonne. For us normal pupils, those who came only on some afternoons for religious education, always seemed particularly ‘dignified', but Trakl stood apart from the others, kept to himself, a shy isolation came to light. Nevertheless, somehow we met at that time, spoke with one another and knew each other. In High School he was a class above me.
